Competition ends 30 July Children need calcium to help build and maintain strong bones. Establishing healthy eating habits in school years is essential for helping carry this behaviour into adulthood.
To engage children and teachers in National Healthy Bones Week, every Australian primary school is
invited to participate in the ‘Want to build strong characters?’ competition, which asks classes to create and submit a National Healthy Bones Week character via a painting, drawing, photo or sculpture.
The winning class will go on an all?expense paid trip to a local museum or zoo to learn about the importance of building healthy bones. The winning school will be visited by a celebrity chef, who will prepare a special calcium?rich meal for teaching staff and do a fun, interactive cooking demonstration with the winning class.
