National Youth Science Forum

The National Youth Science Forum offers students currently in Year 11 a unique opportunity to test drive careers in science, engineering and related disciplines.

For twelve days in January, students come to Canberra or Perth and live on campus as a university student. There are 3 separate sessions each with 150 like-minded individuals from all around Australia and overseas.  Students meet a range of scientists and researchers, visit them at work and do the kinds of things they do every day. They will debate the hottest topics in science and engineering and pick up valuable skills to give students that edge through Year 12 and beyond.

But it’s not all work—there’s also time for fun and to get to know the other students. There’s a trivia quiz, barbeques, a disco and a wide range of sports. There’s even a bushdance.
