June 2010 Australia’s creative young artists have been recognised for their fantastic work in the 2010 National Youth Week National Talent Competitions.
The Minister for Youth, Kate Ellis, today announced this year’s winning young writers, musicians, graphic designers, photographers and film makers.
The winners were chosen from hundreds of entries received across the five National Talent Competition categories – RockIT (music), DesignIT (graphic design), WriteIT (short stories), ShootIT (film) and SnapIT (photography).
“I am delighted to congratulate all the young people who entered this year’s National Talent Competition,” Ms Ellis said. “The imagination and originality of the entries this year was impressive and the winning entrants will be awarded prizes that support and further foster their creative talents."
“I’d also like to thank our star judges - Tara Moss, Marcia Hines, Genevieve Clay, Ken Duncan, Andrew Hoyne and Trevor Flett – for lending their time and their passion for the arts to inspire young Australians.”
“With so many unique and dynamic young artists, I believe there is an exciting future ahead for Australia’s creative industries.”
The National Talent Competitions take place each year as part of National Youth Week, the largest annual youth event on the Australian calendar.
